A Loving Exhortation to the Ecclesia

A Loving Exhortation to the Ecclesia

4/2/2019   Edited 4/12/2019

“Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”  Deuteronomy 5:16

‘Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:  “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”’  Ephesians 6:1-3

I didn’t fully honor my parents until I entered into Heavenly Realms.

  • At some point while I was growing up, I became aware that they weren’t perfect.
  • I didn’t yet know how imperfect I was.
  • I did know that I would never do some of the things that that they did.
  • I was right and I was wrong.

Mostly, I was wrong.

  • How so?
  • I was judging them critically not knowing the full picture.
  • In my 60’s I was finally able to see the big picture.

I was now a spiritual father.

  • I had been a parent.
  • I was learning how to be a spiritual father while on the job.
  • This is what I call on-the-job training.
  • It involves making mistakes.

I suddenly saw that my parents parented me while learning on the job.

  • They only knew what they had learned by observation of others.
  • And by their own experience.
  • They did the best that they knew how.
  • This is true of most parents.

Once you have been a parent for a long enough time, then you can see this.

  • You have experienced on the job training.
  • It’s the same with becoming a spiritual father.
  • You make your share of mistakes and begin to learn from them.

We are all called to learn by example.

  • We watch others who are doing what we will be called upon to do.
  • We follow the good example.
  • We try to avoid following the bad example.
  • We forgive those who hurt us.
  • And honor our parents.
  • Natural and spiritual.

When I saw all this, then I corrected the wrong trades that I had made in the past.

  • I made the needed right trades.
  • I forgave and asked forgiveness.
  • And I honored my father and mother for the first time.

I did the same for each spiritual father that fathered me along the way.

  • I didn’t contact them.
  • I have long ago moved on.

I started to honor Jane Johnson.

  • Since then honor has spread throughout the OUB House.

This honoring of our fathers is a really good thing to do.

  • It is good for our fathers.
  • It is good for us.

How is it good for us?

  • It is good for us because of God’s promises to us.
  • There are two of them.
  • “That it may be well with you.”
  • “That you may live long on the earth.”

I will put this plainly for you.

  • We experience the manifestation of these promises when we honor our parents.
  • First the natural and then the spiritual.

‘Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.  For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”’  1 Timothy 5:17-18

  • Paul is writing as a spiritual father to his spiritual son Timothy.
  • Paul writes how things are to be done in the Hosue of God which is the Ecclesia.
  • All elements of eldership at that time do not apply to being a spiritual father today.
  • But the general principles still apply.

There are two kinds of honor:  Honor and Double Honor.

  • Honor is words and actions.
  • Double Honor is financial provision.
  • No father can pay their bills with Honor.
  • Honor is a currency of heaven.
  • Only Double Honor pays the bills.
  • Double Honor is a currency accepted on earth.

Some truths found in these verses:

  • Those who rule well and work in revealing and presenting truth are worthy of double honor.
  • We are commanded to not muzzle an ox while it is working for us by treading out the grain.
  • The Worker is worthy of his wages.
  • Double honor is clearly financial provision given in return for spiritual work on our behalf.

Giving honor and double honor is right trading.

OUB does not require up front donations before giving you access to revelation.

  • We believe that revelation is given to us for us to give it to you, the Eccelsia.
  • We do ask for a donation on occasion, but it is never required.

In one sense revelation is free and to be given freely.

  • In another sense revelation is costly to receive and is to be received as costly.
  • Here is truth: Revelation is free, but it may cost someone much time and work to receive it.

What does it mean to muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain?

  • An ox walks over grain to cause the kernel to be separated from the husk.
  • Treading out the grain is the process of receiving revelation of mysteries.
  • A muzzled ox is prevented from eating while it is working for you.

Please consider donating to OUB’s Facilitating Fathers.

  • We always give.
  • We rarely ask.

List of Facilitating Fathers to Trade Into

‘And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury,  and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites.  So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all;  for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”’  Luke 21:1-4

I know that many of you have little money to trade into us with.

  • The degree to which you give double honor is not the amount that you give.
  • It is based on how much you have to give.
  • God gives us bread to eat and seed to sow.
  • Bread is given to you to eat.
  • Seed is given to you to sow.
  • For some $1.00 is a huge trade into double honor.
  • In this case please don’t be embarrassed to give the $1.00.
  • Your trade of $1.00 is equal to someone else’s trade of thousands of dollars.
