“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” Hebrews 11:7
Becoming heir follows overcoming.
- In this case overcoming with respect to righteousness.
- All by faith.
- Faith without works is dead.
- Noah overcame by doing works that had their source / energy in faith.
What did Noah overcome by faith that involved unrighteousness?
- Unrighteousness is the opposite of righteousness.
- We overcome unrighteousness to become an heir of righteousness.
Noah overcame the entire world.
- The thoughts of the entire world were unrighteous (evil) all of the time.
- Noah overcame the (unrighteous) world by doing what he was mandated to do.
- He built The Ark.
- He did so by faith.
Doing the Noah Mandate does 3 things.
- It saves The LORD’s Household.
- It condemns the world.
- It causes us to inherit righteousness.
The parallels today are clear.
“As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the days of The Son of Man.”
- The LORD’s Household is saved by entering into what we, along with others, are building.
- At some point the door closes.
- Those who are in are in.
- Those who are out are out.
There is a difference between Yeshua’s first coming & His second coming.
- His first coming He came alone.
- He came to save.
- His second coming we come with Him.
- He / we come to Judge / to separate.
We see this in Isaiah 61.
- Yeshua didn’t quote all of Isaiah 61 that day in the synagogue in Nazareth.
- He left out part.
-
“To proclaim the … day of vengeance of our God …”
This is what many don’t get about this time.
- The Suffering Servant (Messiah son of Joseph) came the first time.
- The Righteous King is coming the second time (Messiah son of David).
- We have dual roles functioning in both until the door shuts on The Ark.
- Then only the second role remains.
How does all this apply to righteousness?
- We become The Heir of Righteousness the moment that the door shuts.
- Why then?
- Because this is the moment when Unrighteousness is completely overcome.
This could be a Stumbling Block for some.
For 2 possible reasons.
- They don’t see the difference of Mandate between the 1st & 2nd
- They don’t see the duality of Righteousness.
The Duality of Righteousness
Righteousness is a free gift that is given to us because of our faith.
- This is true.
- But it is not the only or whole truth about Righteousness.
Righteousness is also a Faith Journey.
- We must overcome unrighteousness in ourselves & in others.
- Ultimately, we overcome it in the world.
The Law of Duality.
- Not either / or.
- Both / and.
- Righteousness is both a Gift & a Journey.
- That Journey leads to one day inheriting Righteousness.
